My natural knack towards computers and Mathematics, and my capacity for hard work has helped me to outshine in all academics areas. The Integrated M. Tech program at Indian Institute of Technology (IIT), provided me with a strong foundation of both Mathematics and Computer Science whilst exposing me to various fields in these domains. My combined knowledge of Mathematics and Computer Science has always given me an edge over the rest when it comes to problem solving. It helps me think analytically and pragmatically.
My current college research project is on Mathematical Modeling of Viruses in a computer Network. Under the guidance of Prof. Dr. R.K. Upadhya, I have studied and analyzed the real viruses distribution models in real humans and also proposed a similar model for the viruses present in computer networks. I realized that real viruses and computer viruses share many common properties. Therefore, in using Mathematical Models on real viruses and integrating it with the concept of Machine Learning, I created a program that could provide a simulation of viruses spreading across a computer network. Analyzing previous spreads of viruses, the program could readily predict which computer node in the network has the highest probability of getting affected next in an already virus infected network. Using this information, virus preventive measures can be conceptualized and implemented, in order to prevent further virus spread in the network.

This course is the perfect blend between mathmatics and computer science. I studied the subjects in coomputer science as well as the detailed mathematics used in computer science and applied and industrial statistics.

‘IDROID India’, was a good opportunity for me to learn, to gain experience in Android Development. I got an in-depth knowledge about the working of the Android OS, making advance Android Apps and how to use API’s to communicate Android Apps with servers. As my project, I contributed in integrating message based enquiry reader system with the android ‘Sulekha’ app.
My internship experience at ‘HCL INFOSYSTEM’ was a turning point in my life. Working as a Data Analyst, I got opportunity to work with live data and perform optimized queries for comparing data using the software MYSQL. As my second project, I made a web portal for SWOT Analysis using Django. Besides working on projects and getting the best summer intern award, this journey at HCL was important because it helped me understand how a big organization (like HCL) works and helped me realizing that this is the direction in which I wanted to grow as a professional.
The time I spent in ‘Bitsysoft’ helped me connect all my networking and operating system based concepts. I worked as network architect designer where I used concepts like networking and graph theory to design an optimized connection between various devices. I was also given special appreciation from my team Leader to solve one of the problems related to Dynamic IP based connection of servers with devices.
I adopted the self-learning approach, which started out as fun but later became time-consuming and challenging. One of my favorite quotes is “Stay hungry , Stay foolish and Stay curious”. My hunger and curiosity towards learning are unparalleled. In Mathematics and Computer Science, there are so many new concepts that I like to keep myself updated with. I read books, articles, blogs and listen to vblogs and TED videos just to make sure my hunger never dies.
